Dave Gregorio has been working for Covenant House for over 30 years and has led the construction several of our flagship programs. He visited Atlantic City Rights of Passage a few weeks back and said that he believes it to be the best building that Covenant House has ever done.”

Covenant House is a nonprofit organization providing at risk young adults a place to live while learning life skills such as managing a bank account, cooking, and finding a job. The facility has 10 two bedroom apartments, a separate dining room, lounge, and meeting room where residents can hang out, work on computers, or hold classes.
The facility also has offices for counseling staff and a back yard terrace, garden and BBQ for social events.
Angled from the street, the roof faces due south for maximum efficiency of the roof mounted solar panels. Energy planning was a focus of the project. The Solar array generates enough power for the electrical requirements of the building’s Common Areas. In addition, the apartments and the Common Areas are heated by high efficiency gas furnaces. Hot water is supplied by high efficiency, tankless hot water boilers. All lighting fixtures are Energy Star Rated. The ceiling fans in the apartment bedrooms and living areas are energy star rated for efficiency. To teach self-reliance, each apartment has a separate gas and electric meter and utility bill.
The residential style design of the exterior relates to the renewed community neighborhood.
